Hmmm

A very interesting idea. I find it hard to believe that you managed 24 hours without food or water though, but I must admire your strength to do so.

The animation itself seemed to start slow but really picked up when the village appeared around the man. Noticing the timer at the top of the scene, it appears that you became better at frame by frame as time progressed.

Led Zeppelin, my brother is a huge huge fan and so I have heard quite a bit of there catalogue, I do enjoy there moodier tracks such as No Quarter and Tangerine.

Keep up the good work

MindProject responds:

Well, it wasn't so much that I was working faster as the first hour or so was spent coming up with an idea to work with. That, and I lost the first hour of work due to Flash freezing. I do love the part where the city starts appearing, although, it's not as impressive as it was originally drawn up. I had some problems that I discovered after I had already animated it all and had to go back through and fix a pacing problem. Since I was working with a time crunch, I couldn't make it as spontaneous and organic as I had originally made it, and so everything just kind of pops up pretty quick and then becomes stagnant, it's really kind of a shame.

But yeah, the no water part sucked pretty bad. I need to do another one like this soon. I'm thinking of doing a 72 hour project for lack of a more innovative idea. I'll allow water that time, of course, 3 days without water is fatal.

SVEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNN

Great work once again

The first scene was hilarious and had a really true message, you even through in a Family Guy joke in for context.

It was damn hilarious and despite your urgings the animation was pretty cool. The audio was up to your usual standard to.

Keep up the good work

ChrisNosal responds:

Thanks.

Wait, what was the Family Guy joke? I haven't watched the show that often, but something might have crept into my subconscious.

ZOMG THEY CHANGED PLACES

My brother would have to be the biggest under 18 Doors fan in australia and so I have a pretty good knowledge of there catalogue. Wild Child is a great song of theres

The animation was really great in some parts such as the hands and the wing animation. Maybe to make it look just a bit more smoother you could increase the frame rate.

Keep up the good work

TheAbominableMatt responds:

Whatup Rhab. Cheers for watching my movie. I made the movie in 12fps before I realised I could change it (I was learning how to use the programme as I went along). I only realised I could change the frame rate at the end and it did look better but it didn't quite link with the song in the same way as before. There are a few points in the song that I think link with the music perfectly, it was completley accidental but I decided that I liked it enough not to change it.

GOLLY SECOND FLASH

A major improvement on your first flash, you really found your animating style over the period between them.

It really could have used sound though and the text was very hard to read in parts (namely the start)

Keep up the good work

Bezman responds:

This review meets the 3 bare requirements I think all reviews should meet. A fair overview and a positive comment were both given in the first sentence, with some good constructive criticism in the 2nd.

I specially like the fact you give specifics in those paranthesis. (It's the specifics I like, though parantheses are good too, I suppose...)

Despite its length, this review packs a lot of punch.

I notice you again put no thought into the ratings for the various categories though.

Not your finest work

I guess you off the hook since it was your first flash and I know for a fact you can do better. Your experimental period if you might.

Add sound, a storyline and better animation and it might be a daisy in a pile of poo. Right now its just poo :(

Bezman responds:

I'm guessing the title is meant to be totally unrelated? Made me chuckle anyway.

Again with the single number across the board. It'd be nice if you'd put some thought into the individual ratings.

'I guess you off the hook'

I think you meant 'you're'.

Suggesting an author adds the things you suggested is basically asking for a brand new animation. They can't really be added as it is.

It'd be more valid to simply state 'this has no sound, storyline, any decent animation, or any other redeeming features for me.'

Well, I understand what you mean anyway.

As I mentioned earlier, I do believe the bare min. for a review should be one positive remark, an overview and some constructive criticism.

Even in the shittiest work, you should be able to find one positive thing to say about the actual work.

Consider it a challenge.

MEH TO THE EXTREME

eh

I take that from the title this was not your finest work and simply an excercise.

I myself perfected my badly drawn stickman techniques due to lack of skill.

It could really have used sound and an ending, possibly to redeem it.

Keep up the good work

Bezman responds:

Again, the title made me smile.

A bit of humour's appreciated in reasonable doses.

2nd line helps me realise you understand my mind.

Again with a bit of humour, this time with a personal slant. Nice, but...

Oh! Here we have some suggestions! Though both were suggested in the previous review.

Your closing comment seems uplifting and positive, though I come away wondering why you gave it a 6. What did you actually like then?

And the fact that you gave straight 6s makes me question whether you put any thought into the individual ratings at all.

ZOMG ASTEROIDS

Good work

The song was alright, a little mellow but alright. Despite the song the flash really shined through with its graphics, they were imaginative and well made.

Keep up the good work

Bezman responds:

I review your review: Your title made me chuckle. I like the fact that you do give explicit personal opinion.

Though you gave it an 8, there must be things you disliked other than the music. It'd be nice if you specified what I should work on.

As a rule of thumb, I personally try and give a bare minimum of one positive comment, one suggestion for improvement and one overall appraisal.

Flattering and enjoyable review to read, but could do with some constructive criticism.

ZOMG CAT GOT PWNZORED

This was better in every single way

It ran smoother, the audio was ten times better, you tooks some more risks with your animating and pulled it off nicely.

Keep up the great work

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Thanks! Since i learned how to animate in my first submission i decided i'd take more time to improve the graphical and audio aspects of the film. guess it worked!

Thanks for the marks!
